Connecting Our Medical He(Arts) and Humanity: An Interactive Workshop to Heal the Healer's Hands

Jennifer Kaufman, Denah Joseph, Betty Carmack, Dawn Gross

Grief from loss of any kind, personal, professional, physical or spiritual, challenges us to connect with ourselves, our relationships, and the world in new ways. Learning to acknowledge and incorporate grief as a practice into our daily lives is an opportunity for growth that can enhance the care we offer our patients and families every day. This interactive workshop begins with a brief review of the literature on physician's grief and self-care as a launching point to explore our own experiences and practices.
