I SEE YOU for the Soul -- 2 Day Equine-Facilitated Retreat to Begin Healing the Injury of Grief

An immersive experience to find solace in the Sea of Grief.

A life raft of Love awaits.

Consider this Invitation your Lighthouse Beacon to Enter into the I SEE YOU for the Soul

I SEE YOU for the Soul guides you through a new framework of grief.

Learn to trust yourself and how you feel. Discover why it can be a struggle to communicate with others, especially those closest to you. Investigate Dawn’s map of the Sea of Grief. Together, we will reflect on the terrains and navigation to promote our buoyancy and ability to return to shore.

We are sensual beings, designed to experience the world around us through touch, taste, smell, sight and sound. Even if not all these senses are functioning our bodies and souls are tethered by the senses we can engage. Some of the simplest acts become the most profound when it comes to reconnecting our souls to our bodies.

Engaging with horses offers a unique and powerful opportunity to see ourselves through the eyes of a nonjudgmental being. No agenda. No expectation. Only the present of presence.

Each day consists of time in a small group of 8 participants to learn what it is like to be in the I SEE YOU for the Soul. Every phase offers a “Dawn Talk” with an experiential practice that includes time to reflect in private as well as in partnership with horses and other participants. No prior experience with horses required. Your feet will remain solidly on the ground at all times.

All sessions take place at the EQ2 Higher Ground Ranch facility in Santa Rosa in collaboration with their expert team of Horse Listeners.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Dying To Talk~Living to Listen

TLC Transitional Life Care community is hosting this on-line, LIVE presentation to explore Life, Death and the glue of Grief.

How can we prepare for death in a culture that doesn’t lend itself to acknowledging mortality? How is it that grief, in all its forms, can inform with clarity how we choose to live right now? I will be offering a paradigm shift in how we talk about death and listen to grief. At the heart of both is a practice of curiosity. The words we choose impact our actions. Creating a community conversation centered on curiosity creates space for conversations about what matters most to occur. Join me and TLC as we discover what we are dying to talk about in a way that compels us to be living to listen.

Trusting Our Own Voices - How science and spirituality influence our approach to life and death in the time of COVID

We long for predictability and certainty in life, in dying and in death.

Even before COVID-19, a tension has existed between science, medicine, intuition and faith in many ways determining our experiences with living and dying.

How do we find this support--offer this support-- when we are told our physical presence is dangerous? What guidance do we listen to? That of science? Faith based teachings? Our gut response to the moment?

In conversation with Ladybird Morgan, RN, MSW and myself facilitated by Oren Slozberg, ED of Commonweal, we will explore how our voices are heard or silenced and in the best of times encouraged to breathe life into the dark spaces of life and death today and into the future.

At Dyalogues, we take play seriously. We know that sharing what we love with the people we love is one of the greatest joys in life. We also know that when things get hard, figuring out how to talk about what matters most in life, gets even harder. Take death, for instance. Some think death is too scary to talk about. We see things differently. Declaring what is most important to us while we are well, gives us the best opportunity to live life fully beginning now. Using a simple and FUN game, you will learn how easy it can be to engage in Dyalogues of a lifetime for a lifetime. Leave inspired to continue Dyaloguing with the people that matter most to you. Be empowered to realize your vision of the life you wish to live now and through your final exhale.

Commonwealth Club - Can We Talk? Breaking the Silence between Patients, Families and Physicians Near the End of Life

Why is it so hard to talk about our own mortality, especially with doctors and people we love? The more death is medicalized, the more a conspiracy of silence seems to reign over these vital discussions. As a culture, we have become far more at ease at talking about how to ward off death than how to prepare for a peaceful one. As a result, many families have distressing end-of-life experiences. They wind up wishing that key conversations had been more realistic—or that they had happened at all.

Whether you’re a patient or doctor, spouse or adult child, each of us has different reasons for avoiding this difficult issue. This program will explore how to break the conspiracy of silence and begin to have honest, meaningful and even reassuring conversations about what matters most near life’s end.

Dawn will be moderating the conversation with authors Katy Butler and Dr. Haider Warraich.
